“Another Great Opportunity” the name of this project because just closed my first human project of reconstruction of a school in Nepal after the earthquake with a crow funding of 3,000$ and four months of strong work, all people who participated economically in the reconstruction are still thank me for bringing this project forward to the end.

I’m Alessio, I live in India, I know many poor people, but with a richness of soul to make us very little.
Raju, is a driver of tuc tuc in Jodhpur.
I met him three years ago, in one of my first trips to India, during a transfer. When asking the bill, he says, “What you want”. After a while I took in sympathy, and every time when I go to Jodhpur, I call him, and he flies loud over the city with its ramshackle tuc tuc that will make a maximum of 30 km/h, a tractor without shock absorbers.Now there are new ones, LPG, modern fast performing and written off.
Tourists and locals now know, and seeing the old tuc tuc of Raju make mention of “Go Go” and take the next one ….
Raju have this tuc tuc for rent, pay 400 rupees per day, or 12,000 rupees a month.
Where 400 rupees means almost 6$ and 12.000 rupees is 170$.
He have no property, also the house is rented, and the work of the tuc tuc driver is not taxed because a poor job, and therefore does not have a tax return. All this means that he will never get a bank loan.
Raju has a wife, who work occasionally, like a laborer, that is, on construction sites carrying the sand, bricks, the laborer.
Together they made a family, consisting of five childrens, all females.
You know what it’s like to have A female child in India for a poor family? And two daughters? And three?
Raju in the hope that was born a male, he is arrived at 5, and stopped.
Over time I met him, and the whole family. Slowly he did enter his humble house, and talk to his daughters, and his wife.
And as he says in the interview, I was able to personally verify, having slept in their house for a week, they make a complete meal once a day, then only appetizers, a chai, a bag of pretzels ….
I was in the bank where the account Raju and I confirm that the funding will give him only with a sponsor by Indian resident. The rates and fees are high, not so much, but for them are high.
I’ve been to Jodhpur Bajaj, official dealer of tuc tuc, there are three types:
Diesel, large model, with bigger wheels.
LPG / Petrol model mini wheeled mini.
LPG / Petrol wide model with bigger wheels, such as diesel.
Costs are respectively 150,000 inr, inr 155,700, and 162,300 inr, with a further 14.100inr for Registration, 6,900 for insurance (annual), and allowed to 40.000inr Taxi (!!!)
My plan is to buy a tuc tuc for Raju, but not for free. A Micro Credit. He will pay to us installments of 300 rupees per day instead of 400 rupees, that is 9,000 rupees a month, and in two years has returned 216,000 rupees, $ 3000, this is the amount required for the crow funding.
Once Return to me, to us, together we can think about a different project to reinvest this money returned, or after two years, or during the return, we have a monthly installment of 9,000 rupees to finance other projects of micro credit.
Raju, with the old tuc tuc can earn from 600 to 3,000 rupees by day, when it is really lucky, but luck is always decreasing, because its model of tuc tuc although beautiful is always more “marginalized”
With this project we do not buy only a tuc tuc to Raju.
We teach him how is important and effective a micro credit.
We save an entire family from extinction.

Le persone che mi rispondono “Ma noi non possiamo aiutare tutti”, nei fatti non aiutano nessuno.“Un Altra Grande Occasione” il nome di questo progetto.Abbiamo appena chiuso il mio progetto di ricostruzione di una scuola in Nepal nel dopo terremoto con un crow funding di 3.000$ e 4 mesi di duro, lavoro tutte le persone che hanno partecipato economicamente alla ricostruzione sono li ancora a ringraziarmi per aver portato avanti questo progetto fino alla fine.Vivo in India, di poveri ne conosco tanti, ma con una ricchezza d’animo da farci sentire piccoli piccoli.Raju, è un autista di tuc tuc a Jodhpur.Lo conobbi 3 anni fa, in uno dei miei primi viaggi in India, durante un trasferimento. Al momento di pagare chiedo quant’è, lui dice “Fai tu”. Dopo un pò lo presi a simpatia, ed ogni volta che vado a Jodhpur chiamo lui, e lui vola sulla città sgangherata con il suo tuc tuc sgangherato e rumorosissimo che farà al massimo 30 km/h, un trattore senza ammortizzatori.Ora ci sono quelli nuovi, a gpl, moderni veloci prestanti e ammortizzati.I turisti e i locali ora sanno, e vedendo il vecchio tuc tuc di Raju fanno cenno di “Vai Vai” e prendono quello dopo….Raju ha questo tuc tuc in affitto, paga 400 rupie al giorno, cioè 12.000 rupie al mese.Dove 400 rupie sono circa 6€ e 12.000 rupie sono circa 160€.Non ha proprietà, sta in affitto anche in casa, e il lavoro del driver di tuc tuc non è tassato perchè un lavoro povero, e perciò non ha una dichiarazione dei redditi. Tutto ciò fa si che lui non potrà mai avere ad un finanziamento bancario.Raju ha una moglie, che ogni tanto lavora, ma l’unico lavoro che può fare è il manovale, cioè nei cantieri edili porta la sabbia, i mattoni, il manovale.Insieme hanno fatto una famigliola, composta da 5 figlie, tutte femmine.Sapete cosa vuol dire avere UNA figlia femmina in india per una famiglia povera? E due figlie? E tre? Raju nella speranza che nascesse un maschio è arrivato a 5, e si è fermato.Nel tempo ho conosciuto lui, e tutta la famiglia. Pian piano mi ha fatto entrare nella sua umile casa, e parlare con le figlie, e con la moglie.E come dice nell’intervista, ho potuto personalmente verificare, avendo dormito in casa loro per una settimana, che loro fanno un pasto completo una volta al giorno, poi solo stuzzichini, un chai, una bustina di salatini….Sono stato in banca dove Raju ha il conto (tanto per averlo…. orgoglioso mi fa vedere che ha anche una carta di credito, mai usata) e mi confermano che il finanziamento glielo potranno dare soltanto con un garante indiano o comunque con un residente. I tassi e le tasse sono elevate, non tanto, ma per loro tantissimo.Sono stato alla Bajaj di Jodhpur, rivenditore ufficiale dei tuc tuc, ce ne sono di tre modelli:Diesel, modello ampio, con ruote più grandi.GPL/Benzina modello mini con ruote mini.GPL/Benzina modello ampio con ruote più grandi, come il diesel.I costi sono rispettivamente 150.000 inr, 155.700 inr, e 162.300 inr, a cui vanno aggiunti 14.100inr per Immatricolazione, 6.900 per assicurazione (annua), e 40.000inr per permesso Taxi (!!!)Il mio progetto è comprare un tuc tuc nuovo a Raju, ma non a fondo perduto. Un Micro Credito. Lui pagherà rate da 300 rupie al giorno invece che 400 rupie come ora, cioè 9.000 rupie al mese, e in due anni avrà restituito 216.000 rupie, 3.000 dollari, tale è la somma richiesta per il crow funding.Ma soprattutto col nuovo tuc tuc guadagnerà tre volte tanto!!!Li restituirà a me, a noi, e noi insieme, penseremo ad un altro progetto per reinvestire questi soldi rientrati, o dopo i due anni, oppure durante la restituzione, abbiamo una rateizzazione di 9.000 rupie mensili per finanziare altri progetti di micro credito.Oppure riprenderci i nostri soldi dopo i due anni. A noi la scelta.Raju, con questo vecchio tuc tuc riesce a guadagnare dalle 600 alle 3.000 rupie, quando è veramente fortunato, ma la fortuna va sempre diminuendo, perchè il suo modello di tuc tuc anche se bellissimo viene sempre più “emarginato”.Con questo progetto noi non comperiamo soltanto un tuc tuc a Raju.Gli insegnamo quanto sia importante ed efficace il micro credito.Salviamo lui e la sua famiglia dalla sicura estinzione!Fai un regalo a te stesso.
